‘Do I Really Want To Do This?'

“To everyone, must come a time
When principles are left behind”

“Calm down dear, it's only commerce
And we've got our asses covered”

A suburban suicide due to subsidence beneath a wall;
A media executive's vision of white jazz fusion malls –
I'm not going shopping, so I don't need a list
I see the way up, and decide that I'd rather get pissed

Do I really want to do this?

“It's a duty of the waning curve
To react and conserve”

“Check your scalp and test your eyes;
Be glad for an early night”

The Lottery, the Stock Market – that's the national wealth
The N.H.S., the Stock Market – that's the National Health -
Get out of my face grandmother, we don't need geriatrics in our midst! I see that the way down is mercilessly brisk

Do I really want to do this?

Do I really want to do this at all?

Do I really want to do this?
